Coda Asano is a talented Cocker Spaniel from Japan who has a love for skateboarding and a serious taste for adventure!
In February 2024, on the set of the Italian TV show Lo Show dei Record, Coda achieved something incredible—he broke a world record!
Coda zoomed through a tunnel made up of 40 people standing with their legs apart, all while riding his skateboard. How cool is that?!
Clearly, Coda has some serious skating skills. It’s not every day you see a dog that can skate like a pro!
Do you know how to skate?
Coda isn’t the first dog to show off some amazing skateboard moves. Back in 2015, another incredible dog named Otto the Skateboarding Bulldog set the original record for the longest human tunnel traveled through by a dog on a skateboard, going under 30 people!
Coda sure knows how to carry on the tradition of awesome skateboarding dogs.
After Otto set his record, he used his fame to spread the word about kindness to pets and to help find homes for animals in need. What a great cause!
And just like Otto, Coda’s owner, Satomi Asano, is passionate about making a difference. She runs a special dog school in Japan, focusing on keeping dogs happy and healthy using positive, science-based training techniques. She’s totally against punishing dogs and teaches them with kindness and patience.
Satomi introduced Coda to skateboarding as a fun way to stay active and play. It wasn’t always smooth sailing, though. On his first try, Coda couldn’t make it through the tunnel. But with patience, praise, and plenty of training, Coda eventually nailed it!
Satomi says, “With praising and teaching, he learned everything—and our relationship has become better over time.” That’s so heartwarming!
