Dani Filipek from Sault Ste. Marie has officially earned a Guinness World Records title for setting the Fastest Mile Pushing a Triple Pram (Female). The news was confirmed last Friday morning, when Filipek received the official word from the prestigious organization.
“I’m so ecstatic about officially holding the record for the fastest mile pushing a triple stroller,” Filipek shared. “Establishing this record means so much for moms everywhere.”
This incredible achievement, which was first covered by SooLeader in October 2024, highlights Filipek’s remarkable feat: she completed the mile in an impressive 6:41, all while pushing her three young children in a triple stroller.
Filipek’s accomplishment holds even more significance because it was part of her efforts to support other mothers. During the Detroit Marathon, where she set the record, she was able to assist 14 mothers by helping to launch the first-ever nursing and lactation tent at the event. This space provided a private, supportive environment for nursing or pumping during the race, a cause Filipek is passionate about.
“Motherhood has made me stronger in ways I never thought possible,” Filipek added. “I couldn’t have done it without the support of so many wonderful people, including the Detroit Marathon team. I’m always here to support mothers in their athletic journeys, and I’m thankful for my children who were a part of the fun.”
In addition to her record-breaking run, Filipek had an impressive performance in the race itself. In the 30-34 female category, she finished third out of 59 runners. Overall, she placed 11th among 570 female competitors and 54th out of 887 total participants.
Filipek’s journey to becoming a Guinness World Records holder serves as an inspiring reminder of the strength and resilience that motherhood can bring, and her story is a powerful testament to supporting mothers in both their personal and athletic goals.
