The ceremony, hosted by comedian Tig Notaro, took place on Monday, March 31, at the McCormick Convention Center in Chicago. The Ambies are voted on by members of The Podcast Academy.
In addition to The Wonder of Stevie’s win, Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang claimed the Best Comedy Podcast award. Bowen Yang, known for his work on Saturday Night Live, has earned four Primetime Emmy nominations.
Hysterical, a podcast delving into the 2011 mass psychogenic illness that affected cheerleaders in Le Roy, N.Y., was awarded both Podcast of the Year and Best Reporting, for Dan Taberski’s investigative work.
Ira Glass received the Governors Award for his profound influence on the podcasting industry, while Sam Sanders was honored with the Impact Award, recognizing his significant positive impact on listeners.
