April 2 (UPI) – American athlete Truett Hanes has reclaimed the Guinness World Record for the most pull-ups in 24 hours, achieving an astonishing 10,001 pull-ups in a single day.
Hanes’ journey to the record has been a battle of persistence and resilience. He first held the title briefly before it was surpassed in less than 24 hours. His previous record-breaking attempt, where he completed 8,100 pull-ups, was swiftly beaten by Australian competitor Gary Lloyd, who performed 8,600 pull-ups in the same time frame.
Determined to reclaim his place in history, Hanes trained rigorously for another shot at the record. This time, he not only surpassed his previous count but also shattered the 10,000 mark, securing his position at the top once again.
Reflecting on his achievement, Hanes shared his unwavering commitment to his goals:
“What I learned about myself is: I won’t give up. I wasn’t blessed with unique ability or super strength, and things have never really come easily to me, but I have been gifted the ability to not give up on my goals. Even if it takes years, I’ll see it through until it’s completed.”
His determination and perseverance serve as an inspiration to athletes and goal-setters worldwide. Hanes’ record-breaking feat was officially verified by Guinness World Records, cementing his place in history.
As of now, Hanes holds the title, but with the competitive nature of extreme endurance challenges, the question remains: How long will this record stand?
