A Missouri museum has made its mark in history by breaking a quirky Guinness World Record, with 309 participants donning banana hats in a lighthearted attempt to set a new milestone.
On Wednesday, the City Museum in St. Louis gathered a vibrant crowd of 309 individuals, all wearing bright yellow banana hats, to claim the title for the most people wearing fruity headgear simultaneously. The record-breaking event took place at 5:30 PM, and the achievement was confirmed by an official Guinness adjudicator.
The museum’s “a-peel-ing” stunt was a collaborative effort, made possible with the support of Explore St. Louis, Slalom St. Louis, and Rasta Imposta Costumes, which provided the banana hats for the participants, according to UPI.
In a celebratory post on social media, the City Museum shared, “We gathered a bunch of friends to set the a-peel-ing Guinness World Records title for most people wearing banana hats with 309 participants! We couldn’t have split this record without the help of Explore St. Louis, Slalom St. Louis, Rasta Imposta Costumes, and, of course, YOU.”
Photographs shared by the museum depicted the cheerful crowd, with attendees looking like a sea of minions, each wearing their distinct yellow banana peel hats in unison.
The event has undoubtedly put the City Museum in the spotlight, turning an unconventional idea into a moment of fun and camaraderie, all while setting a unique Guinness World Record.
