London is renowned for its luxury hotels, and two of its newest properties have recently earned prestigious spots on Travel + Leisure’s “It List,” which ranks the 100 best new hotels globally.
The “It List” is the result of a comprehensive review conducted by 64 travel experts, who assessed hotels in 44 countries based on factors like room quality, service, food, location, and sustainability. Among these carefully selected hotels are The Emory and Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, two standout luxury spots in London.
The Emory: A Modern Masterpiece in Belgravia
Opened in July 2024, The Emory sits in the upscale Belgravia neighborhood. Developed by the same team behind the renowned Claridges and The Connaught, The Emory offers 61 elegant rooms, ranging from 600 to 3,000 square feet. Many rooms provide stunning views of Hyde Park through large floor-to-ceiling windows.
The hotel also features a rooftop bar, a private cigar lounge, and a members-only club spanning four floors. Guests can dine at ABC Kitchen, the UK outpost of Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Prices for a room start at £1,110.
Mandarin Oriental Mayfair: Opulence in the Heart of the City
The second London hotel on the “It List” is Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, which opened in June 2024. This opulent property has 50 guestrooms and 77 apartments across eight floors. Its offerings include a subterranean spa and an 82-foot swimming pool.
Mandarin Oriental Mayfair also houses several fine-dining restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Akira Back and the Korean Chef’s Table at Dosa by Akira Back. Room rates begin at £893.
These two hotels are among the finest examples of luxury in London, making them well-deserving of their spots on the coveted list.
