Techcombank has been honored as the Best Bank in Việt Nam for 2025 by Global Finance magazine, marking its second consecutive win at the World’s Best Bank Awards. The recognition highlights Techcombank’s strong financial performance, focus on customer experience, and advances in digital technology, data, and sustainability.
This award places Techcombank among the region’s top financial institutions, joining other prestigious winners like China Construction Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and UOB.
Techcombank CEO Jens Lottner expressed pride in the achievement, calling it a testament to the bank’s customer-first strategy and investment in digital platforms and AI. “We are creating real value for our customers through innovative, personalised experiences and are committed to leading change in the banking sector,” he said.
The bank was praised for its strong growth, consistent profitability, and balance sheet stability, even amid global economic uncertainty. By the end of 2024, Techcombank had the highest average return on assets (ROA) among Vietnamese banks over the past five years, along with top-tier credit ratings.
A major factor in the award was Techcombank’s customer-focused innovation. In 2024, the bank upgraded its branch system to improve service and launched Auto-earning Plus, a new version of its popular savings product that rewards customers with higher interest on idle funds. More than two million users adopted Auto-earning, boosting the bank’s current account savings (CASA) ratio to an industry-leading 40.9%.
To support its goal of becoming a top 10 bank in Southeast Asia, Techcombank continued expanding its partnerships. Notable efforts include a real estate ecosystem developed with Masterise Homes and a wealth management platform built with Techcom Securities. The bank also plans to extend services beyond traditional banking, forming partnerships in sectors like insurance, healthcare, and consumer goods with companies such as Masan and Vingroup.
In previous years, Techcombank’s digital platforms also received high praise. In 2023, Techcombank Mobile was named Best Digital Banking Application in Asia-Pacific, while Techcombank Business earned the title of Best Integrated Corporate Banking Platform Globally.
As part of its long-term vision, the bank is upgrading all branches by 2029 to improve customer interaction and digital integration. It has also focused on attracting top Vietnamese talent, both locally and from overseas. The bank’s “My Own Greatness” culture encourages employees to thrive and contribute to Việt Nam’s prosperity.
Techcombank has tripled its workforce in technology, digital, and data roles since 2020, now representing 15% of staff, with a goal to reach 25% by 2030. The bank also trains employees in data and AI skills to support a company-wide digital culture.
In addition to its financial and digital achievements, Techcombank has taken major steps toward sustainability. It was the first private bank in Việt Nam to issue a green bond under international standards and to launch the Visa EcoCard, which helps customers track carbon emissions from their purchases.
Green lending has grown significantly, with loans for sustainable projects rising from VNĐ1.1 trillion in 2022 to VNĐ13.9 trillion in 2023. These funds support clean energy, green agriculture, and sustainable transport.
Techcombank also promotes community well-being through events like the Techcombank Marathon, held regularly in Hà Nội and Ho Chi Minh City.
With a strong financial base, a focus on technology, and a growing network of partners, Techcombank is steadily moving toward its ambition to become a top bank in Southeast Asia and a key player in Việt Nam’s sustainable growth.
