A 28-year-old from Salem district, now residing in Chennai, has etched his name in the annals of Guinness World Records by achieving the most number of backward body skips in a minute.
B Sakthi, currently employed as a registered valuer in Chennai, soared to new heights by executing an impressive 49 backward skips in just one minute, marking a significant milestone in Milan, Italy, on February 22. This extraordinary feat surpassed his previous record of 48 skips set in Rome back in 2018. Notably, Sakthi had initially made his mark in October 2015, entering the Guinness World Records with 46 backward skips in Coimbatore.
Hailing from a humble agricultural background in Elampillai town panchayat, Sakthi’s journey to Guinness glory is fueled by unwavering determination and relentless practice. “Initially, my father Balasubramani and mother Valarmathi were puzzled by my pursuits. However, upon witnessing my record-breaking achievement, they became immensely proud and supportive,” he shared.
Despite tying the knot a few years ago, Sakthi remained dedicated to his practice, buoyed by the unwavering encouragement of his wife, Malathi. “I am eager to extend guidance and support to individuals aspiring to break records, and I encourage them to approach the Guinness World Record team based in the UK,” Sakthi expressed.
Reports indicate that the travel and accommodation expenses for Sakthi and his wife, along with the Guinness World Record entry fee amounting to approximately Rs. 4 lakh, were graciously covered by a television channel that broadcasted his remarkable achievement.
Expressing his aspirations, Sakthi voiced, “It would be an honor if Chief Minister MK Stalin acknowledges my achievement with a medal and provides financial assistance.”
Sakthi’s remarkable journey serves as a testament to the indomitable spirit of perseverance and the boundless possibilities of human achievement, inspiring countless individuals to reach for their dreams and surpass their limitations.
