On December 2, 2023, Ivan Yu accomplished the remarkable feat with a staggering time of 7 hours, 36 minutes, and 37 seconds, eclipsing the previous record by nearly three hours. The 20-year-old prodigy surpassed Luke Chapman’s record of 10 hours, 21 minutes, and 43 seconds set in 2021, and Joshua LaFrance’s initial record of 21 hours, 36 minutes, and 29 seconds earlier that same year.
Driven by his lifelong admiration for Star Wars and a fascination with the intricate designs of iconic spacecraft like the Millennium Falcon, Ivan embarked on this ambitious endeavor fueled by a love for LEGO and a desire to leave his mark in the annals of LEGO Star Wars history.
Reflecting on his journey to record-breaking success, Ivan shared, “I’ve always been a big fan of Star Wars and collecting LEGO, so when the Millennium Falcon set was released, I knew I had to make it mine. Watching previous record attempts inspired me to challenge myself and strive for the record.”
