BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) — According to the latest 2024 Henley Passport Index, Barbados continues to hold its position as the most powerful passport in the Caribbean region. The island nation has improved its global standing to 20th place, up from 22nd in January, with a visa-free score of 165.
Following closely is The Bahamas, which has also seen an improvement, ranking 21st globally, up from 24th, and offering visa-free access to 161 destinations.
In third place in the Caribbean is St Kitts and Nevis, moving up to 23rd globally from 25th. Passport holders from this twin-island federation enjoy visa-free access to 157 destinations.
Jamaica’s passport ranks 55th globally, providing visa-free access to 89 destinations.
Other Caribbean countries also rank higher than Jamaica:
St Vincent and the Grenadines, 23rd globally with visa-free access to 157 destinations.
Antigua and Barbuda, 26th globally with visa-free access to 153 destinations.
Trinidad and Tobago, 27th globally, up from 29th, with visa-free access to 151 destinations.
On the global stage, Singapore holds the title for the most powerful passport, with visa-free access to 195 destinations. In contrast, Afghanistan has the least powerful passport in the world.
