In a vibrant celebration of culinary diversity, the Mexican state of Tlaxcala has secured a new Guinness World Record by serving an astounding 30,000 basket tacos in 186 unique flavors. This record-breaking feat took place in the city of Nativitas, with over 150 taco chefs coming together to craft and present the tacos during a special event at the Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City.
Tlaxcala Governor Lorena Cuéllar proudly announced the achievement on social media, highlighting the event’s success in setting a new world record for the most varieties of basket tacos served at a single location. The impressive array of tacos featured a wide range of ingredients, including traditional options like potato, pork rinds, beans, and adobo, as well as inventive combinations such as potato with sausage and cactus.
“This recognition positions Tlaxcala on the international stage as a gastronomic, tourist, and cultural destination,” the state government shared on Facebook, celebrating the achievement as a testament to Tlaxcala’s rich culinary heritage.
This latest accolade adds to Tlaxcala’s growing list of Guinness World Records. The state previously set a record for the longest sawdust carpet, which measured an impressive 12,924 feet and 11.50 inches long.
