British brothers-in-law John Darwen and James Baker have achieved a remarkable feat by breaking their own Guinness World Record, pulling two cars over a distance of 32 miles within 24 hours. This impressive accomplishment surpasses their previous record of 22.18 miles, which they set together in October 2021.
In both record-breaking attempts, Darwen and Baker made a concerted effort to stop at the same distance, allowing them to co-hold the record, a distinction typically awarded to individuals. “What made our record different, and the heart behind it, was that it wasn’t about being the best; it was about being the best together,” Baker shared with Guinness World Records. He emphasized the importance of brotherhood and solidarity, stating, “Self would have said ‘I want to be the best no matter what,’ but the way we did it together, this was our record.”
During their latest attempt, they were accompanied by friend Daniel Callaghan, who unfortunately had to withdraw after completing 14 miles due to an injury.
The record-breaking event also served a charitable purpose, raising funds for two organizations: Redeeming Our Communities and Cancer Research UK. Darwen and Baker’s dedication not only highlights their physical strength but also their commitment to giving back to the community.
