Ayelabola Ololade, a Computer Science student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has achieved an extraordinary feat by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest catwalk distance by a model. This remarkable achievement breaks a 41-year-old record previously held by two Irish models, Roberta Brown and Lorraine McCourt, who set the record in September 1983.
Ololade’s record-breaking milestone was accomplished during an event held at the UNILAG Indoor Sports Centre from October 1 to October 5. Over the course of this event, she completed an impressive 2,058 laps, totaling a distance of 130.62 kilometers, significantly surpassing the former record of 114.4 kilometers.
In her statements following the achievement, Ololade expressed heartfelt gratitude to her parents, volunteers, and all contributors whose support was instrumental in reaching this milestone. She emphasized the importance of community backing and encouraged aspiring models to pursue their dreams with determination and the right mindset.
Ololade’s achievement not only highlights her talent and perseverance but also serves as an inspiration to others in the modeling industry and beyond. Her success demonstrates that with dedication and support, extraordinary goals can be realized.
