A Denver saxophonist has made history by earning a Guinness World Record for the most digital singles released by a music act in a 24-hour period.
Brandon Theis, a passionate jazz musician, achieved the feat on October 31. His record-setting accomplishment highlights his dedication to his craft, which he has honed since taking up the saxophone in 2017. Theis’ connection to music, however, goes back even further.
“I’m a huge fan of Stan Getz. I’m also a dual citizen of Brazil, and I moved to the United States when I was young,” Theis shared, explaining how his Brazilian heritage and love for jazz influenced his musical journey.
Today, Theis has transitioned from a hobbyist to a professional saxophonist, performing at weddings and local venues across Denver. His recent performance at Summit Music Hall was a milestone in his blossoming career. “I’ve just been crushing it,” he said, reflecting on his growth as an artist.
At 29, Theis has already earned recognition in the music world, but his latest achievement is a new source of pride. “The most digital singles released in 24 hours by a music act,” he noted, adding that the Guinness World Record now comes with a commemorative plaque.
Theis carefully selected each of the songs that contributed to his record, drawing from the past eight years of playing the saxophone. “I’ve crafted these songs over my journey, hand-selecting every one that I felt I could work on,” he explained.
In pursuit of setting this record, Theis was driven by the desire to push his own limits. “I wanted to do something to set myself apart and challenge myself,” he said. “To show that I can one-up myself.”
Now, with his Guinness World Record in hand, Theis looks forward to continuing his musical journey, sharing his passion with others. “There’s no reason to listen to music other than the feeling it gives you,” he said. “That intangible feeling is what makes it beautiful.”
