In anticipation of the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024, the City of Niagara Falls is gearing up to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘Largest gathering of people dressed as the sun.’ Registration is now open for those interested in participating in this unique event.
The current record, set by China Life Insurance Company Limited in December 2020, stands at 287 participants. However, Niagara Falls aims to surpass this milestone by rallying 300 individuals donned in identical sun costumes on Monday, April 8, 2024, aboard a Niagara City Cruise.
To take part in this record-breaking endeavor, interested participants must register online by April 7, 2024, at 4 pm, and adhere to specific requirements:
Arrival on location: Participants must arrive promptly at Niagara City Cruises Main Ticket Plaza, situated beside the Zipline Tower at 5920 Niagara River Parkway, Niagara Falls, by 8 am on April 8, 2024.
Transportation: Given anticipated parking limitations and potential road closures, participants are encouraged to opt for drop-off/pick-up services, cycling, or alternative transportation modes.
Dress code: Participants must wear solid-colored black, yellow, or white pants, along with appropriate footwear and upper-body wear. Additionally, they will be provided with a sun costume for the duration of the event.
Stay duration: Participants are expected to remain at the event site for approximately 2.5 hours, from 8 am to 10:30 am. Once inside the event space, participants must remain in place to avoid disqualification.
Compliance: Participants must follow instructions from organizers and volunteers and maintain a positive attitude throughout the event.
